Levels of Commitment. Where are you?

5 Levels of Commitment

  1. I don’t want to commit.
  2. I want the result/outcome, but I don’t want to put in any effort.
  3. I’ll try. I might. I could.
  4. I’ll do my best.
  5. I do whatever no matter what./I do whatever it takes.

When you set goals for yourself, it’s always important to check with yourself the level of commitment you are willing to put in. Goals setting fails when we lost commitment. Therefore, every now and then, it’s good for you to check on yourself which stage of commitment you are in. This may be the reason why you are not producing the result you want in life. By being in level 5 of commitment, you are at your best mental state. In fact, you have won half of the battle!

THIS IS DEFINETLY THE LEVEL I AM AT IN MY RELATIONSHIP. MY BOYFRIEND JUST RECENTLY GOT SENT TO PRISON, AND HE TOLD ME THAT IF I DIDNT WANT TO WAIT I DIDNT HAVE TO. I TOLD HIM THAT I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE. WHEN YOU LOVE SOMEONE, YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD. I’M STANDING BY MAN BECAUSE I AM COMMITED TO HIM AND BECAUSE I LOVE HIM.

ill do whatever it takes to earn the ab or a honor roll again no matter how hard it gets and how mean my teacher is I will get 50 dollars for ab honor roll and 100 for a honor roll my teacher is anoying and mean tho so is alot of them

It seems like you have no choice but to put in effort to study because your parents want it. This is bad. The mentality to start off with is totally wrong.

Firstly, look at what you are studying. Try to link it to real life applications and you will find what you are studying is not at all useless after all. From there, start cultivating your interest on what you read. Studying for interest is very much different from studying to get an A or B. It stretches your mind further and you will realised that you are able to come up with questions that you never have like before.

Secondly, once you have your interest, passion comes. You will find that automatically you pick up your books not because your parents want you to but because you want to learn more.

Thirdly, when your parents start seeing you that you are picking up your books to study automatically and talking to them things that you have learned, they will allow you to play games for more than 2 hrs because you need to work and play hard.

I recommend you to listen to some audio clips posted by stuart. Most probably, you will find your answers to your problems there. Here’s the link
