Yesterday, I was borwsing through this site by Adam Khoo and found one very interesting point raised up by him. His book ‘I am gifted so are you!’ got pirated and translated into chinese in China. His book was sold dirt cheap in China. However, it seems like he is not upset by this phenomenom.
He offered this explanation that if his books got pirated, it means that it has got value in it. Furthermore, this person actually took the effort to translate it into chinese for him. In fact, by looking at things from a different angle, this guy who actually did the translation is doing him a big favor unknowingly. China is a big market. He is actually helping Adam Khoo to reach out to a bigger market, increasing his popularity.
Well, this is quite true. So it seems like what’s the worry when your work got pirated. It seems like you are not always at the losing end anyway. You stands to gain as well. There are always good and bad side of things depending on how one looks at it. Well, in this case, Adam has chose to look at the bright side and probably, pirate the pirates!

I’m sorry I haven’t left my real name. I don’t feel comfortable giving my real name out on the net. But I’m researching copyrighting for an article I’m writing at school. The above is quite interesting.
I was wondering if you could give me some ideas of ways that copyrighting and piracy can effect a buisness of any sort.
Thank you.
