For my many past entries, I often mentioned that a good mentality is the first and most factor for success. Here is the second most important factor for success which is READING!
No matter where you are or what field you are in, if you want to be the one who outshines other, you must be the one who are different from others, do things differently from others. So how do you become one? The trick is to read, read and read… (Oh, I know many of you hate reading. I am one too but I have overcome it.) Have yourself prepared before opportunity comes knocking on your door.
Learning is a continuous process even after you graduated from high school, college, university etc. There are many things in the world that schools do not teach you so there are actually so much things for you to learn out there. For example, stock trading, selling insurance, internet marketing etc which can become your money making tools and they are not taught to you in school. In fact, the top billionaires or millionaires in the world or your country does not come from applying what they learned in school. Most of them come from the insurance, propertry selling, stock trading field. If what you learned in school can makes you rich, then all the MBAs graduates would be rich by now. So how do you find out more on these areas? The key is still to read, absorb the basic fundamentals concepts and knowledge to see which one suits you best.
So how do I overcome my reading phobia? The first thing that I do is to read more on areas that arouse my interest. From there, I increase my reading capacity from reading 15 pages a day to 30 and so on. In fact, after that, you will know that you can actually do it. It’s just a matter whether you want it or not. Then, I start to proceed readings on new areas which I am unfamiliar at all. I give myself a trial period of 10 days. If after reading more into this new field and it still does not arouse my interest, I will proceed the next one and so on. In this way, I am actually exposed to alot of things that are not learned in schools.
So start building up your learning capabilities now and be a future leader!
